At the table
The queen here is the Castagna del Monte Amiata IGP chestnut: chestnut polenta, castagnaccio, roast chestnuts and cakes made with sweet chestnut flour. Around it, porcini mushrooms, tortelli, game, Tuscan pecorino DOP and ricotta, celebrated with a festival of its own.

Wine and olive oil
Arcidosso lies within the production area of Montecucco DOC and Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG, the Amiata wine that borders on Brunello di Montalcino. And a few kilometres away, Seggiano produces its DOP oil from Olivastra Seggianese, the only single-variety Tuscan oil made from this native cultivar.
Festivals
The flagship event is Castagna in Festa, on the last two weekends of October — in 2026 it reaches its 40th edition: the cellars carved into the rock of the medieval village open up and serve chestnut polenta, roast chestnuts and local dishes, among market stalls and music. In winter, Natale di Luce lights up the castle with illuminations and video mapping.
